The dreaded 404 Page Not Found error. We have all seen it from time to time when trying to access a particular website. We often think to ourselves, ” is the problem with my computer or the website?” Typically the problem is not with your computer, but with the website. The only thing you can really do in this case is try again later.
There is a website you can use to see if a particular website is down just for you or everyone. The name of the site is downforeveryoneorjustme.com.
If the site tells you that the problem is only with you, there are a few things you can try:
- Clear your Internet browser’s cache.
- Log off and turn off your computer.
- Turn off your Internet equipment (modem and or router).
- Wait for about a minute.
- Turn your Internet equipment back on.
- Turn your computer back on.
- Login in.
Now try and access the website you had trouble with before AND a few other websites that typically do not have trouble such as cnn.com, cisco.com and amazon.com
If you still have problems, contact your Internet Service Provider.
