There are many people who say it is too hard to secure their wireless router, do not know how or just don’t care. Tell me which option would you choose, A or B?
OPTION A:
Spend time reading the manual that came with your wireless router or visit the tech support site of the company that made your wireless router and get the information you need on how to secure it?
OPTION B:
Be thrown to the floor in your home by federal agents and have assault weapons pointed at you?
This was the reality of a man in Buffalo, N.Y. recently. He did not secure his wireless network. A neighbor downloaded child pornography using the innocent man’s unsecured wireless network. Well the cops traced the downloads to this unsuspecting man and came knocking on his door. I feel that the authorities went overboard, but the problem could have easily been avoided. Please, secure your wireless network and stay off your neighbors network.
