Do you have young kids? Do you have a smartphone? Do your kids always want to use your smartphone? If you experience is anything like mine, once you get your phone back, it’s in shambles. My wallpaper has been altered, time settings have been changed, contacts have been edited or deleted or even a few new apps have been installed that I did not want…just a mess!
Well, here comes Play Safe to the rescue.
Play Safe is a relatively new app that puts your kids in a digital sandbox, a safe area to play in. You protect your phone and your kids. Specifically, it provides a front-end for apps that you, the parent, select. When you want to give your young person your phone, run Play Safe first and then rest easy knowing that that he or she won’t be able to do anything except run the apps you’ve sanctioned.
Play Safe is not perfect, especially if your kids are older or just plain smart. You can easily turn Play Safe off by holding down the app’s logo for three seconds. I hear that Play Safe will soon be adding password protection. The app is free and works with phones running Android 2.2 and later. It may be worth your time to give Play Safe a try. I hope it works well for you.
